EXPLORE · WATERFALLS
Vermont's waterfalls are in the Green Mountains and the Northeast Kingdom. Moss Glen Falls in Granville Gulf State Reservation is one of the most accessible and photographed: a 125-foot cascade in a moss-covered gorge with a roadside pull-off on Route 100. Texas Falls in the Green Mountain National Forest is a series of potholes and cascades on the Hancock Branch, walk-in only from a USFS parking area. Lye Brook Falls near Manchester is an 8-mile round trip through the wilderness to a 200-foot fall. Sterling Falls Gorge near Stowe requires a short scramble on private land — the owners have allowed public access for decades.
Waterfall flow varies by season — spring snowmelt produces peak flows. Check trail conditions before visiting remote sites. Some falls are seasonal and may be dry in late summer. Explore all waterfalls on the Trek4Free map →
