Waterfalls in Texas

Texas waterfall geography is limited by the state's mostly flat terrain, but the Hill Country and Big Bend have notable drops. Gorman Falls in Colorado Bend State Park is an 80-foot travertine falls in a canyon on the Colorado River, accessible by a 3-mile round-trip guided or self-guided hike. McKittrick Canyon Falls in Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a seasonal fall in the highest point in Texas. Hamilton Pool near Austin has a 50-foot waterfall flowing into a collapsed grotto — advance reservations required year-round. Krause Springs near Spicewood has a smaller falls feeding one of the spring pools. Most Texas waterfall flow is highly seasonal.
