Ohio's most significant waterfall is Brandywine Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park — an 65-foot layered sandstone and shale cascade accessible by a short boardwalk trail. Lower Falls in Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills State Park is a 25-foot falls in a recess cave along the Gorge Trail. Cedar Falls nearby is a wide 50-foot cascade that impressed travelers even before the state park system existed. Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve along the Little Miami River has multiple small falls and rapids in a narrow limestone gorge. Most Ohio waterfall sites are in the Hocking Hills region of the southeast.
