EXPLORE · WATERFALLS
Minnesota's waterfall geography is split between the North Shore of Lake Superior and the St. Croix River valley. Gooseberry Falls State Park on the North Shore has five waterfalls on the Gooseberry River within a half-mile of trail. Temperance River State Park has a dramatic gorge section with multiple falls visible from footbridges. High Falls on the Pigeon River at the Canadian border is the highest waterfall in Minnesota at 120 feet — accessible from Grand Portage State Park via a one-mile trail, the only Minnesota state park on the Canadian border.
Waterfall flow varies by season — spring snowmelt produces peak flows. Check trail conditions before visiting remote sites. Some falls are seasonal and may be dry in late summer. Explore all waterfalls on the Trek4Free map →
