EXPLORE · WATERFALLS
Kentucky's waterfalls are in the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Red River Gorge system. Yahoo Falls near Whitley City is the state's highest at 113 feet — a roadside drive with a short boardwalk in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Flat Lick Falls near London is a broad 30-foot cascade in a sandstone horseshoe with an accessible trail. Creation Falls in the Red River Gorge is a 30-foot falls accessible by a 2-mile round trip off the Koomer Ridge trailhead. Cumberland Falls on the Cumberland River in McCreary County has a moonbow — a rare nighttime rainbow — visible on clear full moon nights.
Waterfall flow varies by season — spring snowmelt produces peak flows. Check trail conditions before visiting remote sites. Some falls are seasonal and may be dry in late summer. Explore all waterfalls on the Trek4Free map →
