Waterfalls in Florida

Florida's waterfall geography is nearly nonexistent given the state's flat limestone topography. Falling Waters State Park near Chipley has Florida's highest waterfall at 73 feet — a stream disappears into a sinkhole and falls 73 feet to the bottom of a cylindrical pit, with an observation deck over the opening. The Panhandle limestone country has a few other sinkhole features with falling water. For true waterfall geography, Florida residents travel to the Appalachian states immediately to the north.
