Waterfalls in Alabama

Alabama's waterfall geography is in the northeast corner, in the Cumberland Plateau country around DeKalb and Cherokee counties. DeSoto Falls in DeKalb County is a 104-foot falls on Little River, visible from a trail in DeSoto State Park. Noccalula Falls in Gadsden is a 90-foot urban falls in a gorge park within the city. Little River Canyon National Preserve has several waterfall features including Grace's High Falls during high water — Alabama's tallest at 133 feet, though it runs intermittently. The canyon floor trail accesses the river below multiple drops in what is described as the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi south of the New River.
