Connecticut's swimming landscape is mostly state park lake beaches, but the rivers have spots worth knowing. Wadsworth Falls near Middletown has swimming access below the lower falls on the Coginchaug River. Kent Falls in Litchfield County is a waterfall series with a pool at the base. Bigelow Hollow State Park in the northeast corner has clear pond swimming in the Connecticut Quiet Corner. The Farmington River below Otis has designated swimming in the American Legion State Forest.
