Hot Springs in Washington
Washington's hot springs are in the North Cascades and the Olympics. Sol Duc Hot Springs in Olympic National Park is a developed resort with pools open to non-guests by day use fee, in an old-growth valley 11 miles from the trailhead. Kennedy Hot Springs in the Glacier Peak Wilderness is a remote backcountry site accessible by a 10-mile hike — the pool has been damaged repeatedly by floods. Goldmyer Hot Springs in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness is managed by a nonprofit with reservations required — extremely remote, requires about 9 miles one-way. Baker Hot Springs near Mount Baker is a free Forest Service site closed periodically due to amoeba concerns. Olympic Hot Springs in Olympic National Park is accessible via a former road now closed to vehicles — a 2-mile walk.
Always test water temperature before soaking. Some natural hot springs exceed 150°F and are dangerous. Never soak alone in remote sites. Explore all hot springs on the Trek4Free map →
