Hot Springs in Texas

Texas hot springs are confined to the Big Bend region, where fault zones bring geothermal water to the surface along the Rio Grande. Langford Hot Springs in Big Bend National Park is a concrete tub built by the former landowner in the 1920s — soaking the border river canyon at about 105°F. The surrounding ruins of the Langford homestead are still visible. Boquillas Hot Springs across from the Mexican village of Boquillas del Carmen is accessible from the river crossing in Big Bend. Most Texas thermal features are south of Marathon in the Chihuahuan Desert terrain.
