Free Camping in Utah
Utah's dispersed camping geography is split between the national forests along the Wasatch Front and the BLM canyon country of the south. The Ashley, Dixie, Fishlake, Manti-La Sal, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache, and Wasatch-Cache national forests all permit dispersed camping on most Forest Service roads. The BLM land around Moab is the most-used dispersed camping corridor in the state: Cameo Cliffs, Long Canyon Road, and the Sand Flats area have established dispersed sites with fire rings but no fees or reservations. Bears Ears National Monument land permits dispersed camping throughout. The Escalante Canyons corridor between Boulder and Escalante has BLM dispersed sites along Hole-in-the-Rock Road. Utah dispersed camping is free on most BLM land with a 14-day limit.
