About the PCT

NOBO hikers start late April–May to catch the Sierra Nevada snow window. SOBO departures begin in late June. Average completion: 5–6 months. Permits required for NOBO thru-hikers through the PCTA.
The Pacific Crest Trail Association issues an official certificate for end-to-end completions. Report your finish at pcta.org. Approximately 1,000 hikers complete the PCT each year.
