Caves in South Carolina

2 Caves Found

South Carolina's geology is mostly granite, schist, and coastal plain sediments with almost no karst development. The small limestone areas in the northwestern Piedmont have produced a few wild cave sites. For developed show caves, the nearest significant cave country is Linville Caverns in North Carolina or Mammoth Cave in Kentucky.

Every cave listed here is on public or accessible land. Always bring three light sources, water, and let someone know your plans before entering any undeveloped cave. Temperature inside: typically 50–62°F year-round. Explore all caves on the Trek4Free map →
