Caves in Oklahoma

Oklahoma's cave geography concentrates in the Arbuckle Mountains — an ancient limestone and granite ridge south of Oklahoma City. Alabaster Caverns near Freedom in the northwest panhandle country is the state's primary show cave, with 3,000 feet of passage in alabaster and gypsum. The mineral variety — alabaster, selenite, and rare oolites — is unusual for an American cave system.
