Caves in Michigan

Michigan's cave geography is concentrated in the Upper Peninsula, where limestone and dolomite outcrops along Lake Superior's coast produce both natural cave features and historical mining openings. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has accessible sea cave features in the sandstone cliffs accessible by kayak. Most Michigan cave geology is in the eastern UP dolomite country.
