Caves in Georgia

Georgia's cave geography is limited to the northwest corner, where the Valley and Ridge limestone belt enters from Tennessee. Cloudland Canyon State Park near Rising Fawn has geological cave features in the canyon walls. Tumbling Rock Cave near the Alabama border is a significant wild cave with large rooms. Most of Georgia's surface is crystalline rock; the northwest limestone strip is the geological exception.
